Death card Waffen SS – Frundsberg – Arnhem 1944

Death card to Kannonier and Funker Alois Ortner.

Born: 16 April 1924 in Austria.

In Autumn 1944 he was a member of the 10. SS Panzer Division Frundsberg.
After the Arnhem battles the Frundsberg Division defended the Betuwe area against the Allies.

During an Allied Artillery attack on Velp around 16:30 on 30th October 1944 he was KIA.
First he was burried on a Cemetery in Velp opposite the Parkhotel.

After the war he was reburied in 1947 and nowadays he rests on the German war cemetery In Ysselsteyn, Holland.
