Clearly visible are his shoulderboards with number 78.

On the backside is a stamp of “Foto Strijbosch” in Blerick, Netherlands.

Blerick is a village next to Venlo. The Infanterie ersatz Battlion 78 was based in Venlo for a brief period during the war.

Before the war the Strijbosch studio was situated at the Antoniuslaan in Blerick.

The photo has some small cracks.
