The Soldbuch opens at 31-8-1939 by 7. Batterie Artillerie Regiment 175 of the 75. Infanterie Division. In October 1940 the 2. And 5. battery where used to form Artillerie Regiment 302 of the 302. Infanterie Division. 
In April 1941 the 302. Infanterie Division was sent Northern France as occupation troops in the Dieppe area.

On 30-3-1942 he was awarded the Kriegsverdienstenkreuz 2 Klasse mit Schwerten by the 302. Infanterie Division.

In 1942 he was transferred to Kraftfahrpark Kompanie 690 wich was later renamed to Nachschub Kompanie fur Betriebsstof 690 wich was stationed around St. Gobain, France.

After the Allied landings on D-day and the German retreat from France the unit must have been stationed or stayed for a short while in Breda, Holland. Wich can be seen on page 20 wich bears a stamp of Ortskommandatur I/215 wich was located in Breda from September 1940 untill October 1944. Dated 8-9-1944.

This is also the latest entry in the Soldbuch so he was most probarly taken POW during these last months of 1944 in the Netherlands.
