Death card Ammerzoden – Den Bosch 1944

Death card to Obergefreiter Mayerhofer.

He was KIA on 12 November 1944 in Ammerzoden, Holland.

Ammerzoden is situated north of Den Bosch / ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the Bommelerwaard, Netherlands.

On 11 November 1944 the Germans blew up the church tower in Ammerzoden wich caused a lot of damage.

The suspected reason for demolishing the tower was that the Allies could use it as aiming point.

His lastname on the death card is as Mayerhofer.

On of the many mistakes wich were made during the last months of the war.

Nowdays he rests on the German war cemetery of Ysselsteyn in the Netherlands.
