Wehrpass KIA Russia 1943 16. Pz.Gren.Division “Windhund”

First issue Wehrpass with photo to Gefreiter Köhler.

The Wehrpass opens at 12-3-1941 with 2. Schutzen ersatz Battalion 6 based in Saalfeld-Saale.

After his basictrainings he became part of:

- Kdo. Panzergruppe 4 operating on the Eastfront.

On 1-1-1942 it was renamed to Oberkommando der 4. Panzer Armee.

A year later he became part of:

- 5./Panzergrenadier Regiment (mot) 156 

This Regiment was part of the 16. Panzergrenadier Division “Windhund” and at that time also fighting on the Eastfront.

On 19 July 1943 his fate was sealed as he was KIA by an direct Artillerie hit on hill 203 south-west of Marinowka.
