Citation EK 2 – 3. Luftwaffe Fielddivision with begrundung!

Citation for the Iron Cross 2e Class or EK 2 to Feldwebel Meyerhoff.

Meyerhoff served within the 8. Kompanie, II Jager Battalion of the 3. Luftwaffe Felddivision.

In April 1943 the Division fought as part of Heeresgruppe Mitte south-east of Newel.

On the backside of the citation is written the reason / begrundung for being awarded the EK 2.

For bravery shown he was awarded the EK2 for carrying wounded comrades away from the battlefield under heavy enemy fire.
