Citation for the Kriegsverdienstenkreuz 2 Klasse mit Schwerten to Wachtmeister i.F. Jurss dated 30 January 1944.
Jurss was part of Stab i./Festungs Stamm Truppen XXV.
The XXV Army Corps was at that time stationed in Pontivy Bretagne, France.
The document was signed by General der Artillerie und Kommandierender General XXV A.K. Wilhelm Fahrmbacher.
Fahrmbacher was holder of the German Cross in Silver and the Knightscross of the Iron Cross.
He surrendered on 10 May 1945 in the Lorient pocket.
After the war he was an military advisor in Egypt from 1951 - 1958 under Nasser.
He also wrote a book about the defense of the Festung Lorient after the war.
