Awarded on 30 January 1944 and signed by SS Brigadefuhrer und Generalmajor der Waffen SS Hermann Priess.

Priess was an Knightscross with Oakleaves wearer.

After the war he was convicted for war crimes.

He was one of the 73 defendents who where part of Kampfgruppe Peiper during the Ardennes offensive who where responsible for killing POW’s and civilians.

During the Ardennes offensive Priess was commander of the I SS Panzer Korps.
