In 1944 he was part of 3./Fallschirm Flak Abteilung 3 wich was part of the 3. Fallschirmjager Division.
In September 1944 the 3. Fallschirmjager Division had withdrawn to Germany after the battles in Normandy. After the Allies launched operation Market Garden all available German troops were send to the Netherlands. The remnants of the 3. and 5. Fallschirmjager Division were send to the area east of Nijmegen on the Dutch - German border around Groesbeek - Wyler - Kranenburg.
From the Fallschirm Flak Abteilung 3 the 3th 4th and 5th Battery saw action and were used as Infantry.
Several battles groups were formed and saw close combat against the US. 82nd Airborne Division.
On 30-9-1944 during battles between Mehr and Wyler the 3. Battery had several casualties.
On 15-10 and 16-10 the unit withdrawl from their positions. During the withdrawl Schielke got wounded for the first time and was awarded the Wounded badge in Black on 30-10-1944 signed by Oberleutnant Friedrich. It comes with an original copy of the document.
The 3. Fallschirmjager Division moved to the area of Duren - Merode and was in December 1944 involved in the Ardennes offensive.
On 22-2-1945 he was awarded the Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe signed by Hauptmann und Abteilungsfuhrer Waelder.
It also comes with an paper from 1934 wich stated he was non-Jewish.
And an paper from Luftgau Kommando Norwegen from 1941 wich states he had taken part in a Ski training course.
