Extensive grouping 269. ID EK 2 + EK 1 Westfront 1940 7 times wounded in 3 days!

Extensive grouping to Oberleutnant Altschwager.

He was in active military service from 1932 untill 1945!
From 1939 onwards he served with Infanterie Regiment 469 of the 269. Infanterie Division.

In 1940 this Division took part in “Operation Fall Gelb” and crossed the Dutch - German border on the 10th of May in the most southern part of the Netherlands towards Eijsden were it had it’s first casualties along the Maas or Meuse river wich had to cross to enter Belgium and advance towards the Fortress of Eben-Emael.

In May 1940 he was already awarded the EK 2 for battles in the Netherlands and/or Belgium and later that same year the EK 1 for bravery shown on the battlefield.

Between 10-8-1941 and 13-8-1941 he got wounded 7 times! within 3 days and was awarded the Wounded Badge in Silber that same year and only in March 1945 the Wounded Badge in Gold!

It comes with several awards and wartime papers and his Bundeswehr Wehrpass and a few papers from after the war.

On 2 of the papers are close combat days listed of wich one mentioned a close combat day on 23-5-2940 at Thulin, France but this is actually in Belgium.
