Flak grouping to Obergefreiter Nagel.

From 1939 untill 1944 he served within several Flak related units before being transferred to 4. Batterie Gemischte Flak Abteilung 252 on 6-10-1944 wich was active in the Netherlands.

In a 6 pages written letter dated “25-10-1944 Holland” he describes very detailed an Allied attack.
On 1-1-1945 the unit was renamed to 1./I Flak Regiment 55 (mot) wich also served on the Westfront and was active during the Reichswald battles in 1945.

On 8 March 1945 he was awarded the EK 2 for bravery shown on the battlefield.

The grouping consists of:

  1.  Soldbuch, first issue with photo. Complete with all pages. Only page 1-2 is a bit damaged.
  2. Dogtag matching with the number in his Soldbuch.
  3. Citation for the Flakkampfabzeichen, Nice “Vordruck”
  4. EK 2 citation, signed by the Abteilungs Kommander.
  5. Fuhrerschein, 28-7-1934
  6. Letter in wich he describes how he round up 5 members of an US crew of an shot down airplane only with 1 bullet in his rifle.
  7. Letter written in Holland 25-10-1944, 6 pages
  8. Letter from his wife to his commander. She asks him I he could help. She had to leave Mannheim and got an temporary new home wich needed some work.
  9. Reply from the staff of the Commander to his wife
  10. POW post
  11. Some other small papers

 

Really interresting Flak Westfront grouping wich needs further research.
