KIA Wehrpass Sicily Pz.Gren.Btl. Brindidi Operation Husky 1943

First issue Wehrpass with photo to Obergefreiter Hoffmeister.

From 1939 untill 1943 he mostly served with trainingunits.
On 12-4-1943 he became part of 1./Marsch Battalion Afrika.

Due to the difficulties in Afrika where the Germans where almost defeated at that time his Battalion was used to from 1./Panzer Grenadier Battalion Brindisi on 11-5-1943. The Battalion was used as III Battalion of Panzergrenadier Regiment 382.

Only 2 months later after the Allies had launched Operation Husky he died on 13-7-1943 in Sicily.
