Soldbuch to Unteroffizier Wilfried Jahn.

Born on 6-3-1923.

The Soldbuch opens at 30-4-1942 with 2./Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 26 based in Heiligenhafen.
After his basictrainings he was part of several fieldunits;

- Flieger Regiment 26

- Jager Regiment 36

- Fuselier Battalion 18

The last 2 units were part of the 18. Luftwaffe Felddivision wich was stationed in northern France.

After D-day and the Allied break-out from Normandy it advanced north and had to cross the Seine river.

The 18. Luftwaffe Felddivision was send towards the Seine in the area of Limay. Here it had the task to push the Americans of the 79th Infantry Division back from their bridgehead across the Seine. Togheter with the 49. Infanterie Division and several tanks it fought for over a week without succes.

During these battles he got wounded for the first time and was brought to an hospital in Apeldoorn, Holland on 28 August 1944.

On 19-9-1944 he was awarded the Wounded badge in Black.
