Soldbuch 265 Infanterie Division Normandy Festung St. Nazaire

Soldbuch first issue with photo to Gefreiter Liebreck from the Breslau area,
The Soldbuch opens at 17-4-1943 with Landesschutzen ersatz Battalion 3 based in Strausberg.

Somewhere in late 1943 he was transferred to 13./ Grenadier Regiment 894 of the 265. Infanterie Division.

The 265. Infanterie Division was based in Bretagne.

After the Allies landed in Normandy on 6 June 1944 a part of the Division was sent to Normandy the rest of the Division moved towards Saint-Nazaire and got trapped in the Festung St.Nazaire wich surrendered on 11 May 1945.

On the first page of the Soldbuch is also stamped “Personalliste St. Nazaire”.

It comes with his POW paper and a small Wehrmachtsfahrschein paper.
