Soldbuch, first issue with photo to Obergefreiter Munchrath.

He served from 1941 onwards within Landesschutzen Battalion D before he became part of the Stabskompanie of Infanterie Regiment 858 of the 346. Infanterie Division.

On 1-1-1944 he got promoted to Obergefreiter signed by a Kp. Fuhrer of the Stabskompanie of Grenadier Regiment 858.
The Division was stationed in Normandy around St. Malo but was later send to the area around Le Havre just before 6-6-1944.

It fought in Normandy north-east of Caen and retreated north towards Belgium and Holland.

On 20 October 1944 on the first day of the Allied “Operation Suitcase” he got wounded by schrapnel while fighting in the area of Nieuwmoer - Kalmthout - Wuustwezel in Belgium close to the border.

He was brought to an Kr.(iegs?) Sammelstelle in Sliedrecht on 21 October 1944.

The Infantry Assault Badge was added but also erased in the Soldbuch.
