Soldbuch 5. Fallschirmjager Division – 363. Infanterie Division Westfront 1944

Soldbuch first issue to Gefreiter Treitler.

The Soldbuch opens at 25 May 1944 with 6.(LN.Ers.) Lg. Nachrichten Regiment 1.

Untill 27 August 1944 he served with Different Siganal training units before being attached to Kampfgruppe 5. Fallschirmjager Division who had previously fought in Normandy and dithdrawl north to the Netherlands.

The Kampfgruppe fought east of Nijmegen on the Dutch - German border near Wyler - Beek and Groesbeek against the US. 82nd Airborne Division.

On 11 October 1944 he was transferred to the Stab of Grenadier Regiment 943 of the 353. Infanterie Division. This Division had previously also fought in Normandy and was now active on the Westwall. During these battles he was awarded the EK 2.

The EK 2 entry on page 22 is without date but stamped by Grenadier Regiment 943 and has the same signature as on page 3 by promotions.

Needs further research.

Used condition, ink stains, complete with all pages but the photo is missing.

It comes with a small papertag from his POW camp in France.

He received an Tarnanzug or camouflage suit.
